How does this automation work?
Bardeen's Jira to Notion playbook streamlines your project management by automatically copying all Jira issues into a Notion database. By ensuring that your Notion database is updated with all Jira issues, you will have a consolidated view of your tasks and improve your team's productivity. This is particularly useful for product development teams that use both Jira for issue tracking and Notion as a workspace.
Here is how this workflow works:
- Find Jira Issues: The first step involves the use of the Jira integration. This tool finds all issues in a specified Jira project. Jira Software is a popular bug and issue tracking tool that helps software developers manage product development effectively.
- Create a Notion Page: The next step is to create a new page in a Notion database using the data obtained from Jira. Notion is an all-in-one workspace where you can write, plan, collaborate, and organize - it essentially provides a wide range of tools for teams to work with.
How to run the playbook
Switching from Jira to Notion has become super easy. Just select the Jira project to get the issues and import them in a Notion database.
This automation consists of two actions:
- Find Jira issues
- Add page to Notion
Step 1: Set up a task database in Notion
First, you will need to set up a Notion database for your tasks. You can create one from scratch or duplicate our template optimized for this use case.
Step 2: Pin the playbook and set it up
Click the “Pin it” button at the top of this page to get this Playbook saved to your playbooks.
Then we need to map data from Jira to Notion.
To do this, hover over the playbook card and “Open Playbook in Builder.”
From here, customize the “Action 2: Add Notion page” action. Enter your Notion database and map the data fields using “custom field mapping.”
Save the playbook and close the builder.
Step 3: Run the Playbook
Click on the Playbook card and watch the magic happen!
