How does this automation work?
Bardeen's playbook "Create cold email sales draft from LinkedIn profile using OpenAI" helps you automate the process of creating personalized cold emails for your sales process. It leverages the power of OpenAI to generate a compelling email draft using information scraped from LinkedIn profiles. This playbook is perfect for sales, marketing, and outreach professionals who are looking to streamline their cold email process and improve their conversion rates.
Here's how this playbook works:
- Scrape LinkedIn Profile: The Scraper command is used to extract information from the LinkedIn profile that is currently open in your browser. The data is scraped using a predefined template specifically designed for LinkedIn profiles.
- Merge Text: The scraped LinkedIn profile information is then merged into a single text string. This provides a comprehensive snapshot of the LinkedIn profile information which will be used in the next steps.
- Generate Text with OpenAI: This text string is fed to OpenAI, an AI research and deployment company, to generate a custom, compelling message based on the LinkedIn profile information. The generated text is crafted to be engaging and personalized, increasing the chances of a positive response.
- Merge Text Again: We then merge the custom-generated text with a prompt to create a compelling and attention-grabbing headline for the email.
- Generate Text with OpenAI: The merged text is once again fed to OpenAI, this time to generate the body of the email. The content is designed to be compelling and personalized, ensuring that your cold email stands out.
- Find Email from LinkedIn Profile: Using Snov.io, a sales toolbox and CRM platform, we find the email associated with the LinkedIn profile. This ensures that your personalized cold email reaches the right person.
- Create Draft Email: Finally, using Google Mail, one of the most popular email services, a draft email is created with the generated text and sent to the email found from the LinkedIn profile. This draft can be reviewed and edited before sending, ensuring the final touch is always in your hands.
How to run the workflow
Sales outreach can be creative, but sourcing leads manually can hinder the process. No one enjoys writing personalizations for the same templated email, searching for email addresses, or copy-pasting information into an email client.
This automation can revolutionize your outreach game! Simply find a potential lead on LinkedIn and run this playbook from their profile page. Bardeen will scrape all of the necessary information about the person and pass it to OpenAI, which will write a hyper-personalized recruitment email. Bardeen will then find the email address for the person and generate a draft email in your Gmail. All this with just one click!
Now, let’s set it up.

For example, you can input something like "Write an empathetic email rejecting the startup investment proposal of Matt."
Then, input your name for the email signature.
Finally, you'll input details for your email draft to be created, like the email recipient is, email subject, and who you want to copy the email to.
You can also modify those details from the email draft itself.
You’re done! Now you can run the automation.
💡Pro tip: Remember Inputs
When you're running the automation, you can remember the inputs so you're not asked about them again.
In some cases it can be useful to remember the "Copy to" and "Email subject" inputs.
