How does this automation work?

Bardeen's automation playbook allows you to effortlessly copy tweets from a Twitter profile, translate them into your preferred language, and store them in Airtable. This is especially useful for social media managers, researchers, and marketing teams who need to analyze and share content across different language markets. The integration of scraping, translation, and database tools makes it easy to keep track of international social media insights and trends.

Here's how to transfer and translate tweets to Airtable:

  • Step 1: Scrape Tweets - Bardeen uses Scraper to extract tweets from a Twitter profile. You can define the maximum number of tweets you want to scrape.
  • Step 2: Translate Tweets - The extracted tweets are then translated into your target language using DeepL, ensuring high-quality translations for better understanding and communication.
  • Step 3: Store in Airtable - The translated tweets are added to your Airtable base, creating a convenient and powerful repository for your social media data management.

This automation can be a real game-changer for businesses looking to monitor social media mentions or customer feedback in different languages. It can also be useful for researchers or journalists keeping tabs on tweets related to a specific topic or event in a language they don't understand. Let’s set it up!

Step 1: Create an Airtable

The first step is to create an Airtable with all the tweet information you want to save.

Bardeen will extract information from the tweets like author, tweet, translated tweet, tweet link, link shared in tweet and date. It will then save all this information to your Airtable, once your setup is complete.

Step 2: Install the extension and integrate Airtable and Twitter data scraper

You will be redirected to install the browser extension when you run it for the first time. Bardeen will also prompt you to integrate Airtable and Twitter.

Click the “Pin it” button at the top of this page to get this automation saved to your Playbooks. If it’s your first time using Bardeen, you will be redirected to install the extension.

Click on the playbook card, and the setup flow will start.

You will be asked to enter a Twitter author, a tweet limit (meaning the total number of tweets you would like to extract), your Airtable and the target language to translate the tweets. After you choose the Twitter profile, database and language, you will get a prompt to map the information to the fields in Airtable.

The left side consists of all the fields Bardeen will scrape for you. On the right side, specify the fields in Airtable that you want to associate with the information on the left. If you don’t want a piece of information, leave that field empty, and it will be skipped. That’s it!

Click on “Save Input” and checkmark Airtable. You can edit Inputs later by hovering over the playbook.

Step 3: Save tweets from a profile to Airtable and translate them

Whenever you want to get a number of tweets from a profile and translate them, activate Bardeen (or hit OPTION + B) and run this playbook. It will find the specified number of tweets, translate them and add the information to Airtable.

This automation is fantastic if you are a social media manager for international brands. You can use this tool to keep track of mentions and feedback in different languages, allowing them to respond promptly and appropriately to customers worldwide.

Researchers or journalists can use this tool to monitor tweets related to a specific event or topic in a language they're not familiar with, providing them with valuable insights and data.

Companies or individuals interested in following the success of influencers in other countries can also use this tool to stay up-to-date with their latest tweets and social media trends.

You can also edit the playbook and add your next action to further customize the automation.
