How does this automation work?

With Bardeen, you can automate the process of qualifying and enriching leads from a Google Sheet. Our AI-powered platform integrates with Apollo to help you get more insights about your leads using their email addresses. This playbook will then search for information on various sources like LinkedIn and make a qualification decision based on all the available information. The results are then saved on a new tab in your Google Sheet, ready for your sales team to take action. This process saves time and ensures a more efficient approach to lead qualification and enrichment.

Here is how this workflow works:

  1. Get table from Google Sheet - Bardeen retrieves the content of your Google Sheet and turns it into a table. The sheet is specified by you.
  2. Get column from table - A specific column, which contains the email addresses of leads, is extracted from the table.
  3. Find email addresses in text - Bardeen scans the extracted column and identifies all the email addresses.
  4. Get contact info with Apollo - Using the identified email addresses, Bardeen retrieves contact information for each lead from Apollo.
  5. Scrape data in the background - Bardeen uses the Scraper to extract additional data about the leads from their LinkedIn profiles. The data is obtained in the background to ensure efficiency.
  6. Merge table columns - The data obtained from Apollo and LinkedIn are combined into a single table.
  7. Classify customized text - Using a custom classifier, Bardeen makes a qualification decision for each lead based on the available information.
  8. Create new spreadsheet tab - Finally, Bardeen creates a new tab in your Google Sheet and saves all the results there for easy access and further action.

Let’s set it up!

Step 1: Pin the playbook and integrate Google Sheets

First, click the “Pin it” button at the top of this page to save this automation. You will be redirected to install the browser extension when you run it for the first time. Bardeen will also prompt you to integrate Google Sheets.

Make sure your Google Sheet is setup with the email addresses of the leads that you want to qualify. Take note of the name of the column that contains the email addresses. For the example below, that would be “Contact Email”. We will need this column name during the setup.

Activate Bardeen (or hit Option + B on Mac or ALT + B on PC on your keyboard) and click on the playbook card. The setup flow will start. Bardeen will ask you to customize your sales qualification task. Once you click this option, the qualification flow will start. Bardeen will ask you questions about your business.

It will then ask you to describe your qualification criteria. It’s important to give clear details here, as this prompt will be the main way Bardeen will qualify your leads. For the example below, I described clearly the criteria for my qualification based on the leads that I want to qualify.‍

Once this step is completed, Bardeen will ask you to train the model.

This step is optional. However, we recommend that you complete this step as it will increase the quality of your results.

After your qualification is entered, complete the setup by specifying or creating a Google Sheets spreadsheet. Bardeen will ask you to specify the column in the spreadsheet that contains the column of the email addresses in your spreadsheet. For our example, this was “Contact Email”

Click on “Save Input” and checkmark Google Sheets and your qualifier. You can edit Inputs later by hovering over the playbook.

Step 2: Run the playbook to qualify and enrich leads from Google Sheets

To qualify your leads, press Option + B on Mac or ALT + B on PC on your keyboard to launch Bardeen. Click on the playbook card and run your playbook. It will get information for the leads using Apollo.io and analyze the information based on your qualification task. It will then add a tab to your Sheet with the qualification results and also include the information from ‍Apollo.

You can also edit the playbook and add your next action to further customize the automation.
