Next, purchase the required Marketing SMS Add-on, available for Marketing Hub Professional and Enterprise subscriptions.

Registering your business is the next step. In your HubSpot account:

  • Navigate to 'Settings' > 'Marketing' > 'SMS'.
  • Click 'Register business' and provide necessary details such as business name, website URL, and address.
  • Submit your business registration for approval.

After approval, provide SMS details and generate an SMS number to use for sending messages. This involves specifying the types of SMS messages you'll send and how you'll manage consent from your contacts.

Creating and Sending SMS Messages

Once the setup is complete, you can start drafting and sending SMS messages. HubSpot’s SMS tool allows for personalization, scheduling, and analyzing the performance of your messages. To create an SMS message:

  1. In HubSpot, navigate to 'Marketing' > 'SMS' and click 'Create message'.

  3. By default, an opt-out message is appended. You can customize this if needed.
  4. Review your message, including how it will appear on different devices and in dark mode.
  5. Before sending, configure the internal name, language, and associated campaign in the 'Settings' tab.
  6. Test your message by sending it to yourself or a colleague.
  7. Configure your recipients and decide whether to send the message immediately or schedule it for later.
