Bardeen automates the process of sending personalized Slack messages to participants of a Google Calendar event. In today's fast-paced work environment, it's crucial to ensure that all meeting participants have the necessary information at their fingertips. This playbook ensures that everyone has the meeting link by reaching out directly on Slack, saving you the hassle of sending individual messages.

Here's how this workflow operates to keep your team informed and connected:

  • Step 1: Find current event: Bardeen fetches the details of the current event from Google Calendar. This step is vital to identify which meeting participants will receive the Slack message.
  • Step 2: Extract meeting link: The meeting link is retrieved from the event details, ensuring that the correct information is sent to all participants.
  • Step 3: Identify Slack users: The playbook identifies the Slack user profiles associated with the email addresses of the event participants.
  • Step 4: Send Slack message: A personalized Slack message with the meeting link is sent to each participant, ensuring they have quick access to join the event.

How to run the playbook

You probably have many meetings to attend throughout the week. But when you spent hours preparing a perfect presentation or a demo, and other meeting participants don’t show up, it’s frustrating. You wait alone in Zoom, wondering when they’ll show up.

Meeting reminders are one of the most effective ways to prevent no-shows, and this automation will do it for you with one click.

It will match the event participants from Google Calendar to Slack users based on their emails, extract the meeting link, and send the following Slack message:

A quick reminder that we have the following event coming up: {link}
