Insert an Embed
- Click the '+' that appears to the left when you hover over a new line in your Notion page. Choose 'Embed' from the options that appear. Press 'enter'.
- In the menu that appears, paste the URL of the content you wish to embed. Notion will automatically recognize most embeddable URLs.
- Alternatively, you can use '/embed' in a new line and select 'Upload' to display your own image, audio, video, or file from your computer.
Note: Some websites restrict their content from being embedded. If you encounter a 'Failed to Load' error, this restriction is likely the cause.
Embed Actions and Options
After embedding content, Notion provides several options to customize the appearance and functionality of the embedded content.
- To resize an embed, hover your mouse over it and drag the black bars that appear on the sides.
- Embeds can be rearranged on your page using drag-and-drop. Hover over the embed and use the '⋮⋮' icon as a handle.
- You can link back to the source of the embed by hovering over it and clicking 'Original' or selecting 'View Original' from the '⋮⋮' or '•••' menu.
- To replace embedded content, hover over the embed, click '⋮⋮' or '•••', and choose 'Replace'. Then, either paste a new URL or upload a new file.
Note: Changes made to the source of the embed will reflect in Notion as well.
Connect Other Apps
Notion allows for deeper integration with certain apps, enhancing your workspace's functionality.
- Zoom: Embed Zoom meeting links for easy access to meetings directly from Notion.
- Google Drive: Embed content from Google Drive by selecting 'Google Drive' after clicking '+'. You can also type '/drive' and press 'enter'.
- Google Calendar: Embed a view-only Google Calendar by making your calendar public and pasting the public URL into Notion.
Managing connections to these apps is straightforward. Navigate to 'Settings & members' and click 'My connections' to view or modify your app integrations.
Note: Enterprise plans may restrict the ability to add or manage connections to workspace owners.
