Export Contacts from HubSpot
Before you can import your contacts into Notion, you first need to export them from HubSpot. HubSpot allows users to export contact data, including current and historical property values, and information about their associations and activities. Here's how to manually export your contacts:
- In your HubSpot account, navigate to Contacts > Contacts.
- Click on the name of the contact you wish to export data for, or select multiple contacts for bulk export.
- In the top left, click the Actions dropdown menu, then select Export contact data.
- By default, all current and historical property data will be exported. You can also select to export Contact activities and Associations if needed.
- Click Export. You'll receive an email with a link to download the export file.
For exporting multiple records or filtering which properties are exported, HubSpot also provides options to customize your export according to your needs.
Import Contacts into Notion
Once you have your HubSpot contacts exported, the next step is to import them into Notion. Notion does not natively support direct import of contact files. However, you can manually create a CRM or database in Notion and then input your contact data:
- Log into your Notion account and create a new database by selecting + New Page and then choosing Database -> Table.
- Title your database appropriately, for example, "HubSpot Contacts".
- Manually input your contacts into the database. You can customize the database properties to match the information exported from HubSpot, such as Name, Email, Phone Number, etc.
- For bulk import, consider using CSV files. You can convert your exported HubSpot data into a CSV format and use Notion's Merge with CSV feature to import contacts.
This manual process can be time-consuming, especially for large datasets. It involves data preparation and possibly multiple steps to ensure the data format matches between HubSpot and Notion.
