How does this automation work?
In today's fast-paced business environment, maintaining synchronized databases and documents is crucial for productivity and alignment across teams. Bardeen's automation between Google Sheets and Coda ensures that any modifications in your spreadsheets are instantly reflected in your Coda tables, keeping everyone on the same page. This workflow is especially useful for product development and personal productivity, where real-time data and updates are essential.
Here's how to automate the creation of a Coda table entry when a Google Sheets spreadsheet is updated:
- Step 1: Monitor Google Sheets Changes - Bardeen will track changes in your specified Google Sheets spreadsheet, which allows for collaborative editing and sharing with automated data insights.
- Step 2: Update Coda Table - Once a row is added or modified in Google Sheets, Bardeen will create a corresponding entry in a Coda table. Coda combines documents and spreadsheets into dynamic tables to help you organize and make sense of your data.
How to run the playbook
If you are working with data in Google Sheets and want to automatically sync it with a Coda table, this automation is for you. It will create an entry in a Coda table when a Google Sheets spreadsheet is modified.
Step 1: Set up Coda table
To set it up, first, you need to create a Coda table. You can create one from scratch or select an existing table after you integrate with Coda.
Step 2: Pin the playbook and integrate Google Sheets and Coda
Next, click the 'Pin it' button at the top of this page to save this automation. You will be redirected to install the browser extension when you run it for the first time. Bardeen will also prompt you to integrate Google Sheets.
Step 3: Run the automation to create a Coda table entry when a Google Sheets spreadsheet is modified
Now, you need to map the data from Google Sheets to Coda. To do this, hover over the Playbook card and click on 'Open Playbook in Builder.' From here, customize the last action - Coda. Choose a table and click on 'custom field mapping.' Link the data from action 1 to action 2. Save the Playbook and close the builder.
That's it! Now, every time you or your collaborators modify the Google Sheets spreadsheet, an entry will be created in the Coda table.
