Save new Github issues to Notion

Sync all new issues created in Github to a Notion database.

With this workflow, you can sync all new issues created in Github to a Notion database.

Creating this automation consists of the following steps:

  1. Create a Notion database with matching column names
  2. Give access to the database
  3. Write the command

Step 1: Create a database on Notion with specific column names

Notion requires precise matching of column titles.

In practical terms, it means that Github outputs data with specific column names, and your Notion database should those exactly.

The easiest way to create a new database with those fields is to duplicate our database template for Github issues.

Step 2: Give access to Notion API bot and Bardeen

Add your API bot and then write the following command:

Get access to Notion database with ID [Notion database ID]

Here is a guide with mode details on how to do this.

Step 3: Write the command

Make sure you have this playbook installed first!

Then write the following command:

When github issue is added to repo [Github repository] [optional: “with label / assignee”], then add page to Notion database [database name]

Boom! That’s it. Now try to create an issue on Github and watch it show up in your Notion database.

Note: this workflow only creates new pages in Notion. It does not track changes made in Github. Yet 😉.
