How does this automation work?

Bardeen's workflow automation seamlessly integrates Jira with Airtable to optimize your product development process. As issues are an essential part of any project management, especially in software development, tracking them in Jira ensures that nothing falls through the cracks. By automatically adding new Jira issues to Airtable, you can maintain an organized overview of your projects, making it easier to collaborate, track progress, and analyze data efficiently.

Here's how this workflow adds a new Jira issue to Airtable:

  • Step 1: Trigger on Jira issue creation - Bardeen monitors your Jira for any new issues. When an issue is created, the workflow is initiated, capturing the issue's details.
  • Step 2: Add issue to Airtable - The details of the new Jira issue are then automatically added as a new row to your specified Airtable table. This helps to keep your data synchronized and easily accessible.

How to run the workflow

Looking to streamline your workflow and improve productivity? We have just the solution for you! This automation seamlessly connects Jira and Airtable, allowing you to add a new row in Airtable automatically whenever a new Jira issue is created.

Managing tasks and bugs across multiple platforms can be challenging and time-consuming, but this automation simplifies the process. By eliminating the need for manual data entry, this automation saves you time and energy while reducing the risk of errors.

With this integration, you can now easily track Jira issues in an external source, take advantage of Airtable's powerful features to sort and manage your data, and optimize your workflow for maximum productivity.

So why waste time and effort on manual data entry when you can automate the process with this new integration? Try it out today and experience the benefits of a more streamlined workflow.

Let’s set it up!

Step 1: Set up an Airtable

The first step is to set up an Airtable with all the fields you want to capture from a Jira issue.

Bardeen will extract information like Summary, Key, Assignee, Link, Creator, Status, Issue Type and more. It will then add all the information to the Airtable that you specified, once the setup is complete.

Step 2: Integrate Airtable and Jira

Click the “Try it” button at the top of this page to get this automation saved.

When you run it for the first time, you will be redirected to download the browser extension. If you haven't previously integrated Airtabel and Jira, you will need to do so.

Bardeen will ask for the Jira project and your Airtable. After you choose the project and database, you will get a prompt to map the information to the fields in Airtable.

The left side consists of all the fields Bardeen will scrape for you. On the right side, specify the fields in Airtable that you want to associate with the information on the left. If you don’t want a piece of information, leave that field empty, and it will be skipped. That’s it!

Step 3: Add a row to Airtable, when Jira issue is added

Make sure the automation is activated (toggled on).

Whenever a new Jira issue is created, it will copy all the information to your Airtable.
